Focusing on the Customer

Remember where the profits of your newly acquired company come from: your customers. Employees can often get so busy with the daily tasks of the business that they might take their eyes off of the customers as well. As a new owner, one of your first tasks might be to instill a new focus on customer service and sales.

Offering incentives or tying an employee’s compensation to increased sales may be a potential solution to this issue. When acquiring your business, first ask your managers and employees what the company’s core values are. All members of the business need to understand what they do and why the do it in order to fully serve the customers.
